For My Single Ladies, with love.

I have no idea why this is on my mind, but it is. I just had a rush of irritation with the thought of women feeling not "good enough." And it's not entirely a man's fault for a woman feeling this way, but he does play a part.

So here's the scenario. A pretty woman is pursued by a man. More than likely he is pursuing heavily. Calls, texts, emails-whatever. All this attention=he really likes you, right? Right!???? Maybe. Maybe Not. Sometimes you won't know until later on down the road. Because sometimes men just like the chase, sometimes they like the challenge. Or sometimes they really want YOU. But, more than likely his motive usually isn't question. At least not for awhile.

So after a couple of weeks, you may have returned the calling, flattery and pursuit that he was initially doing. You may have even been intimate with him. And now you notice his efforts aren't as much. You find yourself being the initiator; the pursuer. You don't feel like a priority in his life. Yet, he is now in your Top 3 of priorities. What happened? And more importantly, how does it make you feel? Not good enough?

I've learned from all of my years of dating, that it doesn't matter what I look like, how I dress, what I drive or what I say. I could have the best body, prettiest face and still find myself rejected by men. Why? Because many men aren't dating with a purpose. Now thank God there are some men who want to get married and honor God by waiting to have sex before marriage. But, if they aren't thinking about marriage or God, ladies then nothing you can do on the outside can change that.

This is the part that upsets me. When he starts to reject you by backing off, you feel it in your heart! You look in the mirror extra long. You wonder what is wrong with you. And every time a man does this you swallow it. You end up hopeless-not believing in Love or in Men. Which is a lie, because there is always hope on this Earth. And not to sound cliche' but Christ is our hope.

Now imagine this. Imagine meeting a guy and being totally honest with him upfront. Imagine if you told him you were tired of dating aimlessly and you desired marriage. Most women are scared of being viewed as thirsty or needy and won't ask important questions. So it goes undisclosed. Until it's too late. Most people want faithfulness from their significant other, they want to feel special like they are the only one their mate desires. Most women think about marriage. So if this is what we want, why aren't we asking them in the beginning their motives or desires?

We try to be everything we think the man wants. We act cool, not too needy. We act like we're just "hanging and having fun." We put on a front not to scare them away. I will tell you this-once you get married all those things you hid will come to light. You tried putting your best foot forward by hiding things but it'll come out sooner or later. So why not, just be intentional in dating? Forget "just having fun", women are delicate! We can't play "the game" like men. God created us to love, and nurture and have hearts. We love strong! And you weren't designed to do that for every man you meet nor were you created to have your heart broken over and over again. Really no one is.

I cannot stress to you how awesome it felt to have sex with my husband the day we got married for the first time. I cannot stress how awesome it felt to walk away from that and not wonder if he was going to call back. There were no games, our relationship didn't change and my self worth was not questioned. He was mine and I was his. I didn't have to have sex with him to "win" him or please him, and I didn't have to wonder how he felt about me. What a relief! And this is exactly why God said to wait to have sex. He knows how He created women! To love easily and hard. And that's a beautiful thing-but it can go haywire when it's not with your husband.

A man who never intended to keep you around long term, will use you for however long and then let you go. Leaving you feeling worthless. And all you wanted is to be loved. Smh. To feel desired. That's exactly what I wanted. Until one day I had had enough. I was tired of feeling used, feeling like I wasn't special. When I knew I was! I knew God had purpose for me.  So I quit dating. I quit selling myself for close to nothing. God had bought me for a price-and I was going to start charging! Every cute guy with a good line was NOT going to be able to "get to know me." If God created ONE man for ONE woman, then he had to be special.

I will say it again, Not every Man can handle the fragility of your heart. Stop letting multitude men try it out. Most men were Xed out to me if they weren't serving the Lord. Why try and make it work and have to explain how I wanted to wait for sex until marriage with just random men? Not everyone will understand this. And then another set of men were Xed if they weren't even looking to be married soon. The Xing out is actually pretty simple, WE just make it hard. We want to change men, we think we're Super Woman! Smh-no. If a guy tells you he's not looking for anything serious-He's NOT looking for anything serious. I don't care how pretty you are, how seductive you are-listen to him. He's not ready.

So instead of trying to change a man, why don't you just be patient and wait until you meet one who tells he's ready to settle down? Love yourself. I know you hear that a lot but do you know what that means? That means love yourself enough not to settle. That means love yourself enough by having standards and not allowing any ol' man come into your life to take whatever he wants. That means love what God loves about you. He loves you sooo much and thinks you are SOOOOO special, He doesn't want you throwing yourself around to anyone who would catch you! Invest in you and make men invest and labor to get you. People will work for what they feel is worth it. And I'm not talking being conceited; stay humble. But I'm talking not allowing a man to feel on you when he just met you or calling you anytime time of night! Respect!

Ask God to open your eyes to see what qualities truly matter in a mate. I remember surrendering to the Lord and realizing what was going to matter in the long run. Men who desired children and having a family became more attractive to me. Men who pursued purity was like WOW! And I'll be honest, I was not attracted to my husband at first. I didn't care for his style of clothing or some of the music he liked. But He loved the LORD! He respected and felt the same about marriage, purity, and children. All the other material things come and go. Clothing can change, looks can fade. Bodies fluctuate. But, if you have someone who desires to put God first, then you two will always be working together to get stronger! You don't need the perfect mate, or perfect marriage you just need someone who will humbly keep reaching! Reaching to be better.

Hear me when I say, "I Don't have the perfect husband." But I have never felt used by him. And even through our hard times, I can stand here to tell you-I Am Enough. I am sure that he loves me; I never have to guess and he knows my worth. And just by chance he doesn't-I KNOW IT. Because God told me I was fearfully & wonderfully made (Psalm 139)

True Fulfillment

Reading from the book of John this morning made me realize a very sad truth. satan truly uses men to destroy women. I know that it is also the other way around; Lust period. But, I'm going to speak on women today. If you look in John 4:15 it reads, "The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water so that I won't get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water."

Later, we find out that she has five husbands and is with another man (not her
husband). So many women have a NEED for companionship. They are constantly in relationships and, are dating. Many single women long for marriage and are willing to compromise their Maker's beliefs just to be in one. Marriage isn't wrong at all, desiring marriage isn't wrong either. The deception is thinking that a relationship, including marriage will form as some type of Fulfillment to you.

So let us understand that God is FULFILLMENT. Literally. He is the Maker, the Creator of all of Earth, all of Heaven. He did not created anything or anyone on this earth to take HIS place. Replacement is different from fulfillment. I can replace my children with new ones, but they wouldn't fulfill the same, exact love (attachment) my children brought me. I can replace God's love with a man's love, but will never find fulfillment in that. Temporary satisfaction maybe, excitement; happiness even. But not fulfillment. If you haven't noticed our world today is full of different drugs, new drugs in fact. Different types of alcohol. Different new, addicting foods even. Fun gadgets. ----> ALL Replacements.

I can vividly remember the many, many men I went through before I met my husband. When I say "went through" I mean talking, dating, exchanging info., flirting, kissing, and other encounters. Attention. False fulfillment. I didn't know about the spring of water Jesus was talking about in John 4:13, Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

I was going back to a raggedy well, seeking this "water" with an empty cup. Filling up my cup with lies, flattery, lust and walking back still...empty.  Jesus is explaining to this woman, I paraphrase, "you have all these husbands and yet you still are thirsty." I have watched many family members and many friends go through man after man only to be hurt time & time again. I have witnessed a temporary high from these relationships. False hopes and pretend joy stem from these unhealthy relationships. They are unhealthy because they are expected to bring the woman fulfillment. The men are expected to deliver joy and act as God. That might sound deep, but I know from experience that it's true.  I know about the chasing, the pursuit; the exact thing the bible speaks opposite about. Check this out. Proverbs 18:22, "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD."

It doesn't say to go to clubs or any place half naked and try to seduce your way into his heart! Because a man at a club, almost drunk looking at your body is probably NOT thinking with His heart. More like another body part. I tried to use my body, looks, pictures everything on the outside to get in on the inside of a man:His heart. It absolutely does not work like that. The bible says God looks at the heart of man, not the appearance (1 Samuel 16:7) So you want a man who is striving to BE like God and find His wife with His heart, wisdom & discernment; prayer. You do not want a man who went after you because of your looks!

satan knows how much we desire love and fulfillment. Haven't you noticed how many times you commit to walk with God and oh! what's this? You meet another man. How many times has this "new" man been special? He's better than all the rest. Or how many times has your old man come back at such a time as this. But he's new and improved! He supports your love for GOD, except when it comes to sex, because that should be shared between the two of you. You guys love each other! Hmmm. I cannot tell you how many times I have declared my undying love to GOD and a new man has came along.

I cannot tell you how many times I have fallen for the same man when trying to be faithful to GOD. satan uses men to destroy women. he does not want you to be in love with God and walk with HIM. He rather you go in circles, down the same lonely, destructive path chasing a man and putting all your hope in him (instead of God). I am not exaggerating when I say 90% of all the testimonies I have heard from women include men(or a man). Addicted to sex, pornography, attention, relationships, abuse, etc! The whole time we cannot see Jesus. Putting our trust and hope in man will never bring long lasting results. Our ONLY hope is Christ. If our source of hope is in anything else, it will go bankrupt

I want to add this one last thing. I have been married for 5 years now. Can I tell you that my husband does NOT bring me fulfillment.   I knew that God was always to remain first, like for life before I got married. But, in time my actions said different. My thoughts said otherwise. Even in marriage, none goes before God. My heart will NEVER beat for another the way it beats for Christ. Ever. He is my everything. Everything He created:laughter, children, marriage, giving, jobs, exercise, food etc are good things. But they don't equal to the Joy that He brings. His presence is pure Joy. Smile :) I am lol.

And so, don't be ignorant of satan's devices (2 Corinthians 2:11). A man, in marriage should be a blessing. God created it that way. Do not let a man be used to distract you from Christ; that's backwards! Everything God creates is GOOD. If it's unhealthy, needy, or abusive it's not GOOD, therefore  it's not of GOD. We aren't perfect, but His designs are. Just like money is not evil in itself, love isn't either. Relationships aren't either. But the bible says "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil" ( 1 Timothy 6:10) So if you're loving love, men, relationships, attention, marriage and are willing to do anything to get it, then it's time to ask God what is really your void. "Test me, O LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind" Psalm 26:2

Unlike the songs that promote replacing men and upgrading them, in real life it never works that way. You can replace a man all you want and still get the same results unless they are FROM GOD. God's TRUE love cannot be replaced. If you don't first have HIS love, you'll never reach true fulfillment. Guard your heart, keep your eyes open and be led in everything you do.

Take some time to learn YOU, how God made you. Jewel in Christ is a heck of lot different from Jewel apart from Christ. I like different things, different men. I used to lust, not love men. Know the difference. Take some time to fall in love with HIM. Take some time to be fulfilled in Him alone. Matthew 6:33 says to Seek HIM first. He truly will take care of everything else.......and you will never thirst again -Jesus.

p.s. God says you're worth it. You're worthy of True Love. God is Love.

Young people-Wake up!

As I sit here praying over my daughter and two sons, tears start to roll down my face....God why???? Why are so many young people having sex???As I shift my prayers from my children on to my younger cousins and then to the rest of the world, I envision the 15 yr. old bodies engaging in an adult, married act :( sighhh. Lord! I picture the broken hearts, diseases, and children having children and I cry more.

Little boys addicted to that "release" and unaware of the power in sex. Unaware of the beautiful crafted plan God had when He created sex. Young ladies unaware of the emotional investment they are signing up for. Oh my goodness, these children! Children giving their body to whomever inquires. Laying on their back for whoever asks; needy for the affection. I know. I know because I was there. Handing out pieces of me over & over again. For free. Never a cost. Because I didn't know Jesus paid that cost. He bought me with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20) but I didn't know!

I didn't know that later in life God would have a life partner for me, one who would "pay" for me at an altar & give his life for me at the same time I gave him mine. World, the ways of God are not a myth. There is a man for you woman, and a woman for you man! Trust me when I say there is fullness of Joy in God, but there is no joy in sex outside of marriage. The creator of our world, God created sex for the marriage bed so that you can become "One" with your spouse. Ladies, you won't have to seduce him in order to get love, you can rest in your vows! Hear me when I say there is a consequence for lying down with somebody. Each one will take a piece of you with them. Unrightfully, people will possess pieces of your heart, your soul, emotions....pieces that don't get refunded back.

Just because "everyone is doing it" doesn't mean it's a casual thing. Not at all! It's not just sex! Young people-Wake up! Know your worth! I didn't know mine, I didn't know God's love for me. I took whatever I could find. Like a homeless person searching for scaps & leftovers was I settling for "fake intimacy." Just because he kisses & undresses you doesn't mean he loves you. True Love waits. True Love is based off what we are willing to sacrifice for one another. As God sacrificed HIS ONLY son for us to demonstrate His love for us, is the same way we are to show our love to each other. There is no sacrifice in one night stands, multiple partners, unprotected sex, unplanned pregnancies & abortions.
None whatsoever. It is selfish. It is I don't want to wait,
and I don't want you to be the only one I sleep with. I want to feel good NOW. That is called lust. Lust waits for no one. It's an urgency to get what you want, when you want it. True Love waits. It says I will sacrifice what I want for you. For God. Young people don't know what Love is, they just know they want to feel good. Whatever it takes. They aren't thinking about life long commitment. The price is that you take all this "stuff" with you as you move on with your life. Pieces of other people with you as you enter into other relationships. Yes, I was forgiven and washed clean in Jesus but I took some bad habits, emotions, and memories into my marriage for my husband to deal with. For me to have to deal with years later. Oh how I wish I knew then there was a worthy man out there who deserved all of me. Oh how I wish I didn't give my "handouts" out. To remain pure until marriage and give that gift to my spouse? How amazing! Do parents think it's just not possible now? That teen hormones are just too uncontrollable? Or even adult hormones! There is self-control with the holy spirit. There is hope in Jesus! I just didn't know. I don't think many do know or really believe that. Oh God, please speak to their hearts, love on them so they know what True Love is! Good things aren't easy to attain, it takes work. Make someone pay the price-no freebies. You were fearfully and wonderfully made! (Psalm 139) Your whole make up is precious, everyone doesn't deserve to have you or even know you in that way. You have gifts and desires, talents and passions that don't have to be shared with anyone willing to date you. Save some of it. Hoard your precious goods for your husband or wife.
You may think that sex is no big deal; and that you can afford to sleep with multiple people. Or even you can get over someone by sleeping with another. Wrong. So wrong. I thought all these things worked for me. :( No they didn't. Up at night, crying & journaling to God that I wanted MORE! Pain & hurt is all I got. Nothing more. Women you weren't made to handle so much rejection. You were created to love and nurture! You need the commitment with the sex. You desire intimacy and affection; you can't live off one night stands, 3 month sex partners. You yearn for more and God wants you to have more! I promise. God created that security in a marriage covenant. Please wake up :(  most of my pain in my life stems from sex outside of marriage. If I would have never done it, I wouldn't have had the attachments I had to certain men. I wouldn't have been faced with abortion or disease; heartache. High school drama that was avoidable. None of it- had I just saved myself for my husband. So, I'm telling you please, please cling to God's Word. Know that His creation for His people is for our benefit! Not to harm us, but for our good. Forget only waiting 90 days or until he moves in or even proposes. If he loves you, He will wait and wait and wait. However long it takes. Why? Because when we truly love someone we put their needs/wants before ours. We esteem them higher than ourselves. If he doesn't want to wait, then you know he's not the one. If he's not willing to wait for you, what makes you think he'll commit to you later on? What makes you think he'll sacrifice for you? That's just it- he won't. If you don't make someone work for you, they won't. Period. You think people are that nice? That loving? No! People are selfish. Everybody is out for themselves-which is the opposite of love (1 Corinthians 13:4)

I don't know why this was so heavy on my heart today, but I'm praying especially for the younger generation. I'm going to tell my kids to wait. It is possible to be content with the love of God until marriage. You don't have to be needy for attention-you can be filled in Christ. Never have a need to be loved apart from God because it is in HIM where all needs are met and all voids are filled. You can't find something unless you KNOW what it looks like. Therefore, you have to seek and find God first (Jeremiah 29:13). Because He IS LOVE (1 John 4:8). And it is possible to find someone who shares your same desires of purity. Although, I didn't remain a virgin, my husband & I did wait until we said "I DO." It was a beautiful exchange of Love and I thank God for keeping us both until then.

I tell you that so you know it is possible to wait. (Anything is possible with God- Matthew 19:26)

God's way is better. It always has been and always WILL be. I love you. Please...wait.

Love me,
Love God.

It's a Baby.

I am not writing this to shake anyone up. I am not writing this with anger in my heart, rather the opposite. I come in Love. This is not a debate, nor is it a bashing session. What I want to talk about are the almost 4,000 babies being killed each day in the United States alone. It's awkward to even say "killed" but I've come to a place where I just have to say what it is no matter who I may offend.  That's what abortion is. To fail, cease or stop something prematurely.

The most hurtful part about the topic of abortions is that I cannot understand how we even got to a place where we can debate back & forth, over & over whether or not we have the "right" to kill a baby. It's not that I can't sympathize with the 1% of abortions that are from medical, incest, or rape cases. I can. I just can't wrap my head around the fact we're debating life. Like real life! How in the world can we even justify that  women have the right to kill their babies? How is that legal? I just don't understand the difference between a baby at 8 weeks with a beating heart and a baby out of the womb at 8 weeks also with a beating heart? Where is the justification? Because they both are alive! I didn't just come on here to vent (which would be okay seeing as it is my blog ;) but I came to share my story.....

I am not some big political person who sides with the republican party and bashes women's rights for a living. I don't I am a woman whose eyes have been opened. At the ages of 17,18, and 19 I had abortions. I bet your thinking, "wow that's a lot." And you would be correct yes it is. Three lives I ended in three years. Why? Selfishness. That's all it comes down to. I put my self before another. I did not want my "reputation" to be ruined, blurred or bashed. Smh.

When I found out I was pregnant I knew in those first seconds that this is what I had to do. No question about it. No conviction to it. It was my senior year in highschool-I had to. Number 2 & 3 came & went just as fast as the first one. I couldn't mess up what I had going on. I was a "good" girl, I had goals, I was going to college I couldn't be "one of them." "I was different." But, I really wasn't. I was another young, selfish, lost and broken girl. I put men before anything else. If they wanted to lay with me-fine. If they didn't want to commit to me-fine. I compromised everything I cared about for "moments" yes brief moments of satisfaction. I would cry out to God and ask why? why do I keep doing this? Why can't I stop? I couldn't.

After I would have an abortion I would go back to having unprotected sex.  So you see, this isn't about a woman's right to her own body. This is about women and men wanting the option to not deal with their consequences if we can even call a baby that. You know what I mean. Like I said it's too easy. Men that I "dealt" with told me straight up if I was to get pregnant we would just get an abortion. That hurt me a lot! It was nothing for them to get rid of a baby, our baby! Those years and decisions took a lot out of me emotionally and physically. Life doesn't go on as usual after things like that.

Before I had an abortion, I didn't know what I thought about them. Most of me thought is was wrong because that's what I heard. I knew God to some extent back then so I figured it was supposed to be wrong? But, as soon as it happened to me it felt like I had to do it. I didn't care if it was wrong. Looking back at it now and at the thousands of other abortions that take place, that's the problem-it's TOO easy to do. And I would say that most women that do do it, like myself, choose to do it because we never once take hold to the fact that it's a real baby in our womb. It's one of those things that we kind of think, "out of sight, out of mind." Not literally, but kind of. It's easier to dispose of because we can't actually see the baby moving or hear any talking. So it's more acceptable than if it was a "real" baby. But that's the thing-it is a Real baby. It has fingers and cute little toes and a tiny little heart. It's alive!

Almost 10 years later God has opened my eyes to see what I couldn't see before. The precious, beautiful and perfect little babies that are in a woman's womb who all have purpose regardless of how they were conceived. Babies are innocent, they have nothing to do with how they got here; they just got here.  In our day we punish the baby because of what the rapist did? How does that even make sense? The one that committed the crime lives and the bystander dies. I don't know how it feels to be in this situation (I'm sorry for anyone who had to go through this) but I do know someone who has and still chose to keep her baby. It was tough for her & her husband to walk through that but they loved that child :) with God all things are possible. I promise you that. God promises you that!

I know I have been forgiven & by His grace I don't deal with any guilt or shame. I am beyond blessed beyond grateful that though I made some really bad decisions, He still allowed me to have 3 more children. No miscarriages. No complications. Just 3 more healthy children. I'm crying now because I can't even understand His goodness. Who can? It's as if I never had them. He just gave me 3 more.

My plea to you is that you will at least ask God to see abortion the way He does. More importantly that you would see LIFE the way He does. In our own logic we can't make sense of all this. We don't have a heart for people in the capacity that God does. We have to ask Him to renew our minds. The bible says when we seek Him with our whole heart, we WILL find Him! And when we do, we will forever be changed. We won't just be arguing with people in vain and we definitely won't be people who say nothing about it but we would actually start to grieve for the thousands of babies who die every day!

Remember we are not talking about women's rights here, we are talking about Life. Woman, baby, man, child, old; young. The right to Live. People often scream equal rights!!!...well this is not equal. This is declaring a woman's life is more valuable than a baby's. And I cannot support this theory. I am NOT more worthy than anyone else on this earth. I am not judging any woman who has done this or who believes it is okay to do this. God is the judge. Not I. I just invite you to seek the Lord. If this has happened to you, there is forgiveness from our Father, there can be peace thereafter...God can take away any guilt or shame you may be dealing with.

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
Isaiah 43:25-26  "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.  Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.
Acts 3:19 "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,"
Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."
2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"
Ephesians 1:7 "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace."
Hebrews 10:17 Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more."
Daniel 9:9 "The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him"

And these are just a few. God is sooo good! He created all of Heaven and Earth! Whatever you are going through He is willing and able to get you through it. He can be the Father for that child or the help for you. He'll bring you help! He loves every baby conceived and He most definitely loves every woman carrying that baby mistakes and all! John 3:16--God GAVE up His only son for us; me and you. Through God we can also do this. "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 For our friends, spouse, children; whoever. It takes faith and it takes courage!
